Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the time commitment for being a Keystone Employer?
It’s minimal. You’ll be invited to quarterly sector roundtables (typically 2 hours each), occasional short surveys (5-10 minutes), and ad-hoc virtual meetings. Many Keystone Employers invest just 1-2 hours per quarter, though you can engage as much or as little as suits your business.
Does it cost anything to participate?
No. All LSIP activities, including the Keystone Employer programme, sector roundtables, and access to reports and insights, are completely free. This is funded by the Department for Education specifically to support businesses.
We’re struggling to recruit – can LSIP help?

While LSIP doesn’t directly recruit for businesses, through our networks we can signpost you to relevant recruitment resources, help you access funding for up-skilling existing staff, and influence curriculum development to ensure future graduates have the skills you need. We can also signpost you to relevant talent pipelines and apprenticeship opportunities.

Our sector isn’t listed on the industries and sectors you have listed on the website, can we still engage?

Absolutely. The sectors guide our focus, but we welcome engagement from employers across all sectors. Your insights help us understand the full breadth of skills needs across Norfolk and Suffolk.

What’s the difference between LSIP and the Chambers of Commerce?
While LSIP is delivered by Norfolk and Suffolk Chambers, it’s a separate initiative with different objectives. You don’t need to be a Chamber member to engage with LSIP. LSIP focuses specifically on connecting employer skills needs with training provision, while Chambers offer broader business support and membership benefits.
Can we influence training even if we’re a small business?
Yes. LSIP is designed to give all businesses a voice, regardless of size. In fact, we actively seek input from micro and small businesses because your needs are often different from larger corporates, and training provision needs to reflect that diversity.
